Well, it's the start of another week...and I certainly do dislike my Mondays. Mondays for me at work are crazy crazy. But that really doesn't make for the most interesting of blog posts, so I'll refrain from detail.
I am very excited about my growing collection of herbs growing and drying in my kitchen! Two weeks ago I went to the Farmer's Market (which I LOVE) and bought a dill plant. When, to my shock and delight, it actually thrived instead of died in one week, I went back to the Farmer's Market again this past weekend (something that is becoming a bit of a Saturday morning must for me now) and bought a basil plant. Also to my surprise, I haven't killed that yet either. I am also drying some catnip that Dan found growing in abundance in our backyard to see if it is true that catnip tea is a good remedy for headaches. I am mostly intending to use my herbs fresh (the dill has been good used that way so far), but am currently drying some sprigs of dill to see if it is myth or fact that drying dill saps it of most of its flavor...I'd like to find out for myself since I've previously used store-bought dried dill that I thought was fine...we'll see how it compares.
Sorry, my herb story probably isn't much more interesting than a Monday story would be. But I am personally delighted by my growing store and can't wait to add to it :)
Well, Marissa is currently on her merry way to visit her best friend Helena in Switzerland. I am so excited for her....she has been working hard, saving up, and anticipating this adventure for months now...but I am also a bit nervous. The girl's hardly ever flown and here she is making a trans-Atlantic flight all by her lonesome. I'm sure she'll be fine...I'm also sure I'll be worrying about her the whole time! I'm a little sad I couldn't accompany her...we'd always looked forward to someday traveling together it would be nice for it to be sooner rather than later...but I'm sure she'll have a wonderful time with Helena and her family.
Well, Dan is at his softball game that I unfortunately declined to attend as it was directly after my tiring work day...and the cat is climbing on my head, so maybe I'll take her out for some fresh air. Hope everyone has a lovely holiday week :)
