Well, I thought perhaps it was time to dust off the keyboard and re-open our blog. A very good reason for that is that I find myself once again at home during the day instead of at work, and apparently blogging does not go hand in hand with a full-time job in my book.
Another reason that I think I gave up on posting nearly a year ago is because there really was not much to tell that I didn't feel was either boring or depressing. I had recently had a miscarriage and lost a job in the same summer while Dan was barely starting a tentative job that we were very unsure about. Although I was on the cusp of starting a much better job, it really just didn't seem to be worth it to detail every aspect of our lives at the time.
BUT! Life is a bit more exciting, though scary, and there are definitely more points of interest to process and share.
So. This summer is beginning on a refreshing note. I have my porch-potted herb & vegetable garden planted and it
is thriving so far. We'll see if we can eke a longer life out of it this summer than we were capable of last summer :) Dan is VERY excited and hopeful about his "fat and sassy" sweet red bell pepper plant and often speaks lovingly to it to coax it into a good harvest. I will include pictures soon.
I am 38 1/2 weeks pregnant and very jumpy about every little twinge and ache. Although the baby seems pleased as punch to be dancing about in there for now, so I probably shouldn't get too excited yet. I've been spending a lot of time with Jeffrey during the day since fazing myself out of my job, and that makes me very happy :) Dan is still working for Dow - we have been waiting with bated breath for a long-promised and very over-due promotion to come his way, but if it doesn't we'll be ok...his sword business is slowly but surely making itself useful to our finances :)
That's us in a nutshell right now. I intend to include several pictures of our recent activity when I get the chance. Right now I should be helping Jeff with his homework though!
