Well, I am in the midst of my first week at the child development center where I've been hired. It is going quite well...I really love being with the kids. I have been working back and forth between the toddlers and infants...I think the idea is for me to end up mostly working with the infants, but I'm being trained with both age groups for as-needed teacher coverage. This job is much better suited to me than my last one...the last one paid the bills, so I'm grateful I had it, but I feel very comfortable taking care of children, and, despite the craziness of a classroom or nursery full of little kids on the go, find it pretty enjoyable :) It is really interesting watching personalities developing at these crucial and fleeting young ages. And as infants thru 2 yrs at the oldest they can all get pretty cuddly and lovable. There is nothing like kids climbing trustingly onto the lap of the new teacher and snuggling sweetly to renew my spirit.
