Jours Ensoleillés!

Well, I suppose I technically have a toddler now! Liam has been figuring out the business of walking for a few weeks now, and he knows what he"s doing but has yet to deem it the most efficient form of locomotion. He can still crawl much faster so that is still the preferred method. I love watching him walk, it is so adorable, but I know I won't get my baby back once he's truly passed out of the crawling phase so I am savoring these last few weeks :)
It's funny how I pictured myself having a baby for much longer, but he's grown so incredibly fast (well, at the normal rate really, lol, but naturally it feels too fast from my point of view!). He is such an adventurer. When I see him next to other babies the same age, he sometimes seems like a maniac, his urge to explore is so strong, but I really wouldn't have it any other way :) When the mood strikes, he can be incredibly affectionate, showering us with hugs and kisses. He loves having both mom and dad together with him and likes to go quickly between us, hugging or"tickling" one then the other. But given the choice, he is Grandpa's man all the way and has been for months now. It is very sweet!

We are loving our first summer in our house :) It so quickly became our home that it feels like we've been here for longer than 5 months, and I mean that in a good way. Our fear was that it would feel too small, but so far that hasn't been a problem at all. It will probably feel tight whenever we add a second child to the family, but who knows when that will be, so we are good for now! There are still several different improvements that we'd like to make eventually, probably some this summer, but we're not in a hurry and are happy with some of the changes we've made already.

Dan has been busy with his projects (winding down several big orders actually), and will probably be slowing down for awhile soon. He's made some beautiful pieces and has gotten good reviews. It stresses him out a bit on top of his day job but I love seeing the satisfaction it brings him to finish a project and see his hard work pay off. I am always very impressed when I see the finished product and am a little sad to see it sent off to the customer!

We've been so excited to get a new nephew this month...my sister's son Micah will be 2 weeks old on Tuesday. He is such an adorable little chunk, and I'm very happy we live near enough for me to snuggle the little guy :) Liam is very interested and likes to pat him while occasionally cooing "baby" (sort of!). He is very gentle, luckily! He is usually a little over-exuberant in most of his actions, but he seems to have figured out that this little guys is fragile :)

Well my updating time has expired...I seriously need to get some new pics up next time!

I love reading your thoughts when I don't get to see in for a few weeks. :)
